About Liverpool Mothers' Union

Mothers' Union in the Diocese of Liverpool  is 120 years old and has 87 branches and approaching 3,000 members. Members are not all mothers or even all women.  Men, single, married, parents, grandparents or young adults are welcome. .
Membership is spread across 81 countries and there are in excess of 4 million members. We actively pursue our vision through our faith, programme work, advocacy and policy outreach. By supporting marriage and family life, especially through times of adversity, we tackle the most urgent needs challenging relationships and communities and in the past two years Mothers' Union has provided a platform for leaders to come together from 20 countries demonstrating a unity of faith and purpose. In many parts of the world MU is a vibrant source for the emancipation of women, developing small businesses, teaching basic child care and nurturing families in the Christian faith.

This year is the tenth anniversary of the Literacy programme in Burundi, Malawi and Sudan  and also of the Parenting Programme here in the Uk. The Families First magazine is appealing to an ever broader readership.
